The house is situated on a steep south-facing slope in a narrow mountain valley with views of the nearby village to the east and the dramatic mountain scenery in the West. The building is located on the top edge of a large property and is designed as a wooden frame structure made of prefabricated parts. It consists of a square torso including the living and dining area which is then surrounded by terraces and carport. The larger upper floor contains the living quarters and office, all with balconies. The building shape is reminiscent of a mushroom at the base thereby reducing costly structural design and avoiding extensive excavations. The cross-shaped floor plan orient all rooms of the upper floor to the east and west. The projections of the upper floor shade the generous glazing on the ground floor, allowing a panoramic view of the valley.
